Passing of Al Sass, Vista Fire Department
NewsDear members,
It is with deepest sympathy that I inform you of the passing of one of our members, Al Sass (retired) from Vista Fire Department. Al was a US Navy veteran and served in several positions on the SCFMA Board. He was in an assisted living home for the last few years and passed away on the 12th of December at the age of 86. The Memorial Service for Al will be this coming Monday, 12/20/2010, 1:00PM at:

Training Sources:
The 2011 Class A Foam and CAFS Academy will be held in Glendale AZ Feb 3-5. It will include a Foam/CAFS EVT track which will cover theory, maintenance, tuning, and troubleshooting. It will also include an Advanced EVT track which will install a CAFS Retrofit on a pumper during the Academy.

TRACKS
Students will follow one of five tracks:
Basic (B): Students new to foam.
Advanced (A): Students already using Class A foam who understand the basic principles. PPE and SCBA required for live fire.
Admin/Chief (C): Officers and Administrators who need to know how to effectively implement and use foam in their departments.
EVT (M): Technicians who service, diagnose and repair systems.
Advanced EVT (AM): Experienced CAFS Technicians
