Bill Childers Memorial Information
NewsBill Childers, age 79 years, longtime resident of Citrus Heights, passed through the Pearly Gates (much to his surprise) on Wednesday, September 29, 2010. Born in San Francisco on July 30, 1931, he was raised in Vallejo, where he met his future wife Bernida while chasing fire trucks to a fire she accidentally caused. They married a few years later and recently celebrated 60 years of marriage. Bill will be deeply missed by his wife and his three daughters and their spouses, Kay and John Barnes of Jenner, CA; Cynthia Childers and Steve Cole of Exeter NH; and Lenore and David Nice of The Woodlands, TX.
He was greatly loved and respected by nine grandchildren and was the proud great-grandfather of five. A Memorial Celebration of his life will be held October 29, 2:00 PM at the Citrus Heights Community Center, 6300 Fountain Square Drive
