“CAT Engine Warranty Clarification”

A correction to incorrect statements made at the NCFMA meeting in Oakdale at Hi-Tech Fire Apparatus:

“The Standard Warranty period for new engines powering fire trucks, emergency service vehicles, and ambulances is 60 months (5 years) or 200,000 miles (321,869 kilometers), whichever occurs first after date of delivery to the first user”.

Additional extended service coverage (ESC) for these apparatus can be purchased or included in your bid requirement for up to 300,000 miles and 120 months (10 years).  Some components are limited to 84 months (7 years). Towing coverage is offered for up to 84 months (7 years) or 500,000 miles at $300 with the stipulation that it be towed to the nearest CAT authorized repair/warranty facility.

I apologize for the misinformation of 2 years unlimited mileage stated for on-highway commercial trucks where the question was asked for Fire apparatus.
